A seating chart, not just a shuffled list
Every person is assigned to exactly one numbered seat. Seat numbers follow the table edge clockwise, so selecting a seat clearly shows who is immediately to the left and right.
Round and long tables stay easy to read
Round tables treat the first and last seats as neighbors. Long tables keep the two ends open, so an end seat has only one adjacent seat. A complete text list remains available below the chart on every screen size.
Share the chart without saving the guest list
Names and assignments exist only on the current page. The shared link stays as the clean tool URL; only the result card you choose to create contains the displayed seating chart. Reduced-motion preferences skip the seating sequence and show the same final result immediately.

How do I create a random seating chart?
Enter one name per line, choose a round or long table, and select Assign seats. The tool shuffles the name cards, seats everyone in order, and then shows the complete chart and text list.
How many people can I seat at once?
Each draw accepts 2–16 names. The seating chart uses one seat per nonblank line, so there are no extra empty seats in this version.
What happens to blank lines or duplicate names?
Blank lines are ignored. Every nonblank line remains a separate person even when two visible names match; add a short label if people need to tell them apart.
How are left and right neighbors determined?
Seat numbers run clockwise along the table edge. On a round table, the first and last seats are neighbors; on a long table, each end seat has only one neighbor.
Does reduced motion change the seating result?
No. It only skips the shuffle-and-seat sequence and shows the already determined seating chart immediately. The assignment itself does not change.
Are names, seating charts, or shared results saved?
No. Names and assignments exist only on the current page. The shared link contains the normal tool URL; seating details appear only in a result card you explicitly create.
