About Random Ranking Race
One ranking, two ways to reveal it
The complete ranking is created before anything moves. Fast mode shows it immediately, while Reveal mode uses seeded checkpoints to stage lead changes and finish-line timing without redrawing anyone.
Useful order first, race-day tension when you want it
Use the result as presentation order, game turns, a complete ranking, or a playful way to decide who takes the last-place duty. Presets only change the wording; every racer keeps the same chance of every position.
Verifiable ranking without saved lists
The ranking uses the same Web Crypto verification contract as other Lots tools. Names and results stay in the current page session, and the shared link remains the clean tool URL; only a result card you choose to create contains the displayed ranking.
FAQ
Common questions and answers about this topic.
How do I use the race to choose presentation or game order?
Enter one name per line, choose Presentation order or Game turn order, then start the race. The final numbered list is the complete order from first to last.
What is the difference between Fast and Reveal modes?
Fast mode shows the complete ranking immediately. Reveal mode animates the same ranking with lead changes and staggered finishes. Reduced-motion preferences always use the immediate result.
How many racers can I enter?
Each race accepts 2–16 names. Races with more than 8 people use compact lanes to keep the action readable, while the complete ranking below preserves every full name.
Can the race animation change the final ranking?
No. The complete ranking is generated once before the animation begins. Every checkpoint and finish delay only presents that result and never calls the random generator again.
What happens if two racers have the same name?
Each input line is treated as a separate racer, even when the visible names match. Add a short label such as a surname initial if people need to tell them apart on screen.
Are names, rankings, or shared results saved?
No. Names and rankings exist only in the current page session. The shared link contains only the normal tool URL; ranking text appears only in a result card you explicitly create in the browser.
