Finger Spotlight

Everyone holds a finger on one screen while the spotlight eliminates touch points until one remains.

About Finger Spotlight

How to play

Place two or more fingers on the same screen. When every touch stays still, the game locks the players, counts down, and eliminates touch points one by one until one remains.

Keep holding after lock-in

Adding or removing a finger before lock-in restarts preparation. After lock-in, lifting a finger eliminates it immediately. If everyone lets go together, the round is cancelled.

No names and no upload

Touch points are numbered only for the current round and processed in your browser. Finger positions and device pointer identifiers are not sent to a server or saved as history.

FAQ

Common questions and answers about this topic.

How many people can use Finger Spotlight?

It needs at least two fingers and supports up to ten, but the actual maximum depends on how many simultaneous touches your device can detect.

What happens if someone lifts a finger?

Before lock-in, the game restarts preparation. After lock-in, that finger is eliminated. If everyone lets go together, the round is cancelled.

How does the tool choose the winner?

It creates a complete elimination order with browser-provided cryptographic randomness when the fingers lock in. The animation then reveals that order one step at a time.

Why does my device say multi-touch is unsupported?

Desktop trackpads and some touchscreens expose fewer than two simultaneous touch points to the browser. Use a multi-touch phone or tablet, or switch to Draw Lots.

Are finger positions or device identifiers saved?

No. Touches are processed locally for the current round. Positions and pointer identifiers are not uploaded, stored as history, or tied to an account.
