About Draw Lots
Options can carry weights
Each option on the wheel has a name, color, and weight. A blank or invalid weight is normalized to 1, while larger positive weights make that option occupy more probability in the weighted draw. You can edit the list directly, upload or download a text list, and keep a local copy in this browser.
Seed, history, and local state
Every spin creates verification data with seed, timestamp, mode, and inputsHash based on the option names and weights. Recent winners, options, and wheel settings are stored in localStorage for convenience, so they stay on this device unless you clear them or export the list yourself.
For casual decisions, not certified lotteries
Use it for picking lunch, classroom turns, party prizes, or task order. The tool exposes reproducible verification details, but it is not a legal lottery system, a certified randomization service, or a substitute for rules, witness procedures, and audit logs required by formal prize drawings.
FAQ
Common questions and answers about this topic.
Is this draw lots online tool truly random?
Yes. Each online draw runs in your browser with the secure Web Crypto API, and Paji Lots displays the random seed alongside every winner so you can verify fairness yourself. No server-side processing, no manipulation.
How do option weights work?
Each option has a weight (default 1). Higher weight means a larger slice on the wheel and a higher chance of being picked. For example, weights 3 / 1 / 1 mean the first option has 60% probability. Open Weight Settings to adjust weights with a visual pie chart.
Can I save or export my option list?
Your options are automatically saved in your browser's local storage and restored on your next visit. You can also download your list as a `.txt` file via the download button, or upload one from your device. All data stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.
How many names or options can I draw lots from online?
You can draw from up to 100 names or options manually or via Bulk Edit. When uploading from a text file, the limit is 20 lines, one option per line. For the clearest online wheel view, we recommend keeping the list under 30 options.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit, all the random calculation, animation, and audio happen entirely in your browser. No internet connection is required to spin the wheel — perfect for classrooms, meetings, or anywhere with unreliable Wi-Fi.
